Brecon Beacons National Park in Wales, home to natural beauty and breathtaking scenery and most commonly known for its fantastic walking trails and abundance of waterfall walks. Whether you choose to come for the day, or plan a longer stay in the area there is so much for you to enjoy.

One of the popular walks is called ‘The Four Waterfalls Walk’ and takes in some wonderful waterfalls. If you head to the car park called Gwaun Hepste, typing into your GPS the postcode CF44 9JF this will take you as close as we can advise. Make sure you have cash on you to pay for the parking as the car parks are cash only.

Depending on which route you decide to take will have an impact on the; duration, the type of path and what footwear you wear. We recommend the shorter route for families as it’s a safe path that keeps you away from the steep drop to the waters edge which the other path follows. It’s also shorter making it more enjoyable for those with families, younger people, and those looking for a more leisurely walk. We would always recommend good footwear as true to form, you never know what the welsh weather is going to do!

Once you’re ready to set head off on your walk, take a moment to read the various routes on offer and take a photograph of the sign to keep with you. The walks are really enjoyable, there are lots of benches along the way so you can take a moment to enjoy your surroundings, there are some picnic benches for you to enjoy a picnic and if it’s a warm day (or you’re feeling brave), you could take a dip in the natural pools. So bring your swimwear! One of the main highlights people speak of is the waterfall Sgwd yr Eira, which is the waterfall you can walk behind. Make sure you allow enough time to reach it and spend some time behind it for that all important photo opportunity!
